I have gained 15 years of experience as a journalist in Germany and English-speaking countries. I'm a communications and cultural scientist and have been working as a language teacher for German as a Foreign Language and English since 2017. My focus is cross-cultural communication. Before I became a language teacher in Germany, I was as a kindergarden teacher in Ghana and worked as a substitute English teacher at high schools in South Africa and on the Galápagos islands in Ecuador.

Whether you want private classes or small group lessons - learning should be fun! I teach German as a Foreign Language (Deutsch als Fremdsprache / DaF) and English on all levels of the European Frame of Reference (a1 - C2) and help prepare for all major language exams. Next to language lessons, I also offer extra tuition for school students in German, English, Geography and History, including bilingual lessons for all years up to and including Abitur). I also offer writing courses. I am TEFL certified, with additional certificates in IELTS Exam Preparation, Business English, Grammar as well as TEYL - Teaching English to Young Learners.

Two heads are better than one, and four eyes see more than two. Before you submit important documents like a master thesis, or launch your website, it's a good idea to check your grammar and spelling. I'm happy to help you with proof-reading, editing, formating, writing tasks and correspondence. In addition, I'm also happy to help you with smaller, uncertified German-English/English-German translations.

Learn where it suits you best. Within Solingen and its surroundings, I teach you on company premises or in your home. Alternatively, you can also visit me in Solingen-Gräfrath, or join the lesson via Teams, Skype or Zoom. Every course is tailored to you and your needs. Learn in private lessons or small groups of 8 participants maximum, for best learning successes.

„Wer fremde Sprachen nicht kennt, weiß  nichts von seiner eigenen.

Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

„To learn a language is to have one more window from which to look at the world.“

Chinese proverb

In Hawaii, "to talk story" means to sit and spend time with friends and to share stories of what has been happening.

For me, TalkStory combines my loves and passions of languages and writing. So you see, it's about the Talk and the Story. TalkStory meine Leidenschaft für Sprachen und Schreiben. Es geht also um den Talk und die Story.

Whether you're interested in a language refresher for your holiday, business language courses, exam preparation, writing practice or proof-reading - I am happy to help you. And maybe we'll meet afterwards someday "to talk story."
